Windows XP & Hard Drive

Hi,here is a question no one has been able to answer.Not even Microsoft,I have a Modern Puter,Pentium 3 500 MHZ and 512 Ram and a 6.5 Gig Hard Drive, which was operating great.But to be the 1st on the Block with a new Toy,I purchased Windows XP HomeUpgrade ($150 + 14% Tax in Canada).I followed Bill Gates instructions to the T.Changed 32 Fat Drive over to NTFS. But XP did not work as good as I thought it would, so uninstalled and Formatted Hard Drive,returned to Store, you have 30 days to return to Retailer.Took 3 Days to get Windows 98 Se Back in and running, but still will not shut down.Now here is the Problem, My Computer says the Hard Drive is back to a Fat 32, but the capacity is 1.99 Gigs, how can I get it back to 6.5 Gigs ?
