windows xp home edition

is there a way for me to make it so people cant get into areas where i don't want them and how would i go about doing that? its my first time with xp.

You can achieve it with many ways.

* format your disk with NTFS
* Create your partation during XP installation and after installation and format them in NTFS
* set permission by removing everyone and adding your self and administrator with fullcontrol
* you can create a folder on system partation and can make them private. So this way only you can access such folders.

it says cant use permissions unless i have xp professional

as u know u must have pro to set-up permission,u can setup user accounts but i don't think u can make them private unless u use a third party software here is a link to 1 site that has freeware.
