windows xp home services

By ssexyssadie ·
It seems that new services were somehow added and I am wondering what they are actually for and if they are needed. From the searches I have done on these I cannot find the answer I am looking for which is: What is it for and do I need to have it enabled?

These are the following services I am asking about:

Microsoft.NET Framework NGEN
ASP.NET State Service
Extensible Authentication Protocol Service
Health Key and Certificate Mgmt Svc.
Network Location Awareness
Office Source Engine
Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
Windows Driver Foundation
Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache

I have Windows XP home edition, I.E. version 6, windows svc pk 3

Updates are current

If more info is needed let me know.

Thank you

These look like Services that are included with SP3

But if you are not sure install Process Quick Link 2

Then open the Task Manager and left click on the Process Tab and then locate the offending Service and left click on the green Dot tot he Left of the Service that was added by Process Quick Link.

This will open a Web Page with a description of what that particular service actually is.
