Windows XP Pro - EFS and "Documents and Settings" folder.

By jfrances ·
I need to encrypt the "Documents and Settings" folder but I receive "access denied" when it tries to encrypt the "Application Data\Microsoft\Credentials" folder. Not even the administrator can encrypt this folder.
Not much information on this from Microsoft or other web searches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Some things aren't always meant to be encrypted. Plus, do you want to encrypt/decrypt internet and other temp files constantly. You'll more than likely see a decrease in your performance. Encrypt folders with valuable data and make sure you back up your key. Or someday you may be very very sad. I've seen it happen...

If you really want to encryot it make sure you are the owner.
