Windows-XP Re-Installation (USB Mouse & KB Lockout)

by hutchy80 . Updated 17 years, 10 months ago

I am having a problem completing a Windows XP repair re-installation. When the installation reaches the ‘Loading Device Drivers’ stage, it reaches about two thirds the way through then the USB mouse and USB keyboard lockout. This prevents me from responding to a command box thus the installation suspends. When I first installed a ‘Fresh’ copy of Windows, the installation completed without any problems and I had the same USB mouse and keyboard connected but now I am locked out. Has anyone got any ideas how I can solve this problem without having to find myself a PS2 mouse & kbd.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can give. Regards Bob H
