Were you were installing Windows XP over a different version of Windows when you got this?

Some try to install XP on newer hardware with too much RAM or a SATA drive that doesn’t have drivers or the BIOS emulating IDE.

This is the land of the arcane. While a lot of folk know what it takes, folk today may not be doing their research and end up with nothing but blue screens.

Insert the original Windows XP installation disk.
Boot from the CD. Press any key when the “Press any key to boot from CD” message appears.
Press R to open Recovery Console.
Type in the administrator password and hit Enter.
      Press Enter.
      Restart your computer.

      Hope this helps,
      J Wick
