Windows XP Setup

By sam.lyne ·
Ok, so over the past few weeks my computer had been stopping during boot up on a screen with one of those '_' <-- underline things, my computer boots up properly after a restart, but it was getting annoying. So i decided to see if there was something wrong with XP, I put the install disk in, and went to the setup, the upgrade. I picked up during the setup that it wanted to install a second Windows on my system, so I tried to cancel it. however now whenever I start up my pc, it goes from the '_' page to "which operating system would you like to use"....."Windows XP Home Edition or Window XP Setup"

Any ideas how I can stop this from happening, and remove the files that think theres 2 operating systems?

Boot.ini

First, have the pc show hidden files. Go to C:\Tools\Folder Options\View. Click on Show Hidden Files and Folders. Open the boot.ini and only delete the line with the Windows XP Setup. File\Save. Reboot.
