Windows XP will not recognize my Video Card

By Hoodligan ·
I've recently dug a two-three year old computer out of storage that I'd gotten frustrated with and all but given up on. After finding recovery CD's and an internet guide to wiping the computer completely to start over I've solved most of the problems I'd been having with it.

I know that this computer used to have a medeocre video card at least capable of running simpler video games, however, I cannot. I tried a simple video card test I found through google and the test could not complete. I cannot find my video card in Divice Manager.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

of your System and someone may be able to track down a driver. That is if it's the original Video card.

Hi Hoodligan,

Download "Unknown Device Identifier" from somewhere like
http://www.download3k.com/System-Utilities/System-Maintenance/Download-Unknown-Device-Identifier.html
("Unknown Device Identifier" is a free device identifier)
Know your Video Card Driver Make and model, Download and install a suitable drivers from the Link suggested by "Unknown Device Identifier" or which ever site you find it safe.

Hope this helps...

Two to three years is a long time especially if you'd "gotten frustrated with and all but given up on" it.

Have you opened the PC case yet?

Maybe you removed the graphics card three years ago, in your frustration??!!
