This is a home-computer, and neither reverting to 98 or upgrading to W2K is an option … some important device drivers aren’t available for those, nor do I want to purchase more MS licenses.
Symptom; the mouse (or sometimes just windows) freeze for anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds, and then the machine comes back. Reboot restores reasonable behavior.
I’m hoping to locate some downloadable patch (MS doesn’t have one), or just change some setup or registry item.
