winnt/system32 problems

I have no operating system disc for my dell computer is it possible to obtain one???
or is it possible to repair this problem ???
windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt /winnt/system32/config/systemced/ start up options for windows 2000 press F-8 you can attempt to repair this file by starting windows 2000 set-up using the original set-up floppy disc or cd-rom select " r " at the first screen to start repair
I HAVE NO DISC

You can buy media only from most software vendors. Check your local yellow pages.

If u got ur comp. in past year dell will supply u the OS CD for free if dell had supplied that OS. If not, and u bought a used one try the seller. Otherwise u need to reinstall from another win 2000 CD. It may also be possible to install WIN98 in a seperate folder like WIN98A and if it works u might be able to recover some or all documents before reinstalling clean OS.

That is a big problem, no backup cd. Well call dell and get OEM, now if you already lost the one supplied, buy a new one. You cannot repair without an original OS cd. You can try e-bay, someone might be selling OEM version at cheaper price.
