WinXP client connect to a NT4 VPN Server

By johnm ·
I have setup a new NT4 VPN Server. We also just bought a new Notebook Computer with WinXP Personal Edition preloaded.

I am successfully able to connect to the Internet via Dialup Networking, then I am able to connect to my VPN with no problems.

Now, How do I Find and Map a network drive located on the NT4 server onto the WinXP client?

I've tried using My Network Places but nothing shows up.

This really sucks!!!

HELP.. :)

WinXP client connect to a NT4 VPN Server

You have to be sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled and that the XP workstation has the local WINS or DNS server addresses. If you're using DHCP to assign IP addresses to dial-up clients, you might be getting them from DHCP server; if not, they have to be entered statically in the dial-up networking properties. This should be all you need. Hope this helps!
