I work at a very small company, and I am in charge of networking / server admin (in addition to my ‘regular’ job).
We have a 2 new employees that want to hook their WinXP Pro laptops to our Win2000SBS network.
I want to add them to our network, and I’ve setup an account for them etc. etc.. but when I log them on, WinXP treats them like a new user, and I have to install Outlook and their software again. How do I get their old id’s they were using to simply join our network (so all of their user settings and software installs will still show up)? How do I get the login they were using when their laptops were stand-alone to be attached to the network/domain?
Does this make sense? Be gentle, I’m a newbie on this admin stuff, even though I’m somewhat computer geeky I’m just getting my feet as an admin etc…
