woman trouble!!

Help!!! my woman has a hankering to garner a bit of IT knoladge and would rather that I was not the one to show her( says that she can't get angry at me then!!!) could someone reccomend a good basic educational software that I could give her??? (She just has the hang of windows but wants a bit more.)

There are quite a few Self Study courses online that she could check out,then you could check Comptia for A+ and Network+ to gain obectives and get frre sites that may be of help

FIrst stop, Tom's Hardware guide. http://www.tomshardware.com
ALmost every piece of hardware is described in full. It will teach basic hardware fundamentals all the way up to detailed product specific specs. Different processors and what they do etc.

Just be careful and make sure she understands that knowledge can be a dangerous thing, it's usually best to find an old Pentium II or 486 to play with, them you can swap out the provcesors, chipsets etc. without any risks involved.

Nice site that toms hardware but I think perhaps a bit simpler would be more appropriate, took her 6 months to go threw the vidio professor Cd. (hence this shows that teaching just isn't a talent I possess!!!) she may be slow but then she sure has the drive to learn.
