While doing a copy and paste from one word doc to another word doc the some of the pasted text losses some of the formatting from the orginal doc. i.e. fonts change type and size and underling is removed. Does anyone have an idea on how to eliminate this issue?

Of course, in your case it might be of default settings in your word document. Please Try this

      1) Copy a word or paragraph from one document
      2) Open another document
      3) Go to “Edit” menu in the standard tool bar and click “Paste Special” option.
      4) You will be displayed with some set of options in a window.
      5) From that choose “Formatted Text(RTF)”
      6) Yes, I think your query will statused to “Answered”

If you are succeeded from this, please inform me or if you got any other answer also, inform me.

      Bye

Make sure you are copying the whole paragraph from the 1st document to the 2nd. To do this:

First, turn on the show/hide formatting button (backwards P)

Then, copy the first paragraph, Including the paragraph mark at the end of the paragraph (also a backwards P)

Paste the paragraph into the 2nd document.

If the formatting still comes out screwed up, go back to 1st document, highlight the paragraph and use the Format Painter tool (paintbrush icon): highlight the text, hit Format Painter, go to 2nd document, highlight text.

I have copied the entire text along with the formatting. It is a new paragraph and the fonts are the same in both doc’s. Word will change one or several words from the pasted text, but leave the formatting alone for the rest.

THE ISSUE CAN BE ELIMINATE BY TWO WAYS
      1. YOU NEED TO PASTE IT TO A NEW PARAGRAPH
      2. SET THE FONT TO THE ONE YOU COPIED BEFORE PASTING IT ELSE IT ASSUME THAT YOU ARE USING THE FONT THAT IS IN THE PARAGRAPH YOU COPIED INTO.
