Word 2000 Default Document

On one of my Windows XP clients used by the public the Word 2000 opening (default) document has been saved with a large image. This image needs to be removed. What is the best way to handle this? Delete the default document? Or, remove the imagethen save the default document? Either way I need the name of the default document. I would appreciate all suggestions.
