word 2000 won’t close with error

For the past several months I have noticed that when I close office 2000 it hangs and eventually generaltes errors. Once I click the error window — refering me to the log file — it finally closes. I have re-installed office 2K with no imporivement.

I have also noticed that I am being asked to re-install publisher every time I try to run it.

How can I COMPLETELY remove office 2000 and do a TOTAL clean install?
