    Word document Wont Go Away

    by amcpherson832 ·

A word document deleted several days ago keeps on printing when I switch my printer on. It is no longer listed when I open Word, so I can’t work out how to get rid of it – I’m wasting paper and ink.

The document is gone, if you deleted it. But the spool file to print isn’t. If you remove that from the printer queue it won’t print any more.

https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+clear+spool tells you how to do it, if there’s no popup to let you cancel the printing when you turn off the printer or remove the paper from it.

A common solution to clear a print que that you want to purge is to unplug the printer for about 30 seconds and plug it back in/turn it back on. In that example, make sure there are no active print documents on your computer first.
