Word Printing Issue

I am having a problem when printing in word basically when you print multiple copies of a document the next time you try and print it defaults to the multiple copies instead of defaulting back to 1. The printer is a networked HP LJ 4100N i have completely formatted the pc in question (even though it happens on more than one pc), tried a LJ3Si driver and a 4100 PCL5e driver all which have not worked.
I have also upgraded the pc to windows xp and office xp in case this was a word 2000 issue all installed all the patches and critical updates. This problem still occurs HP persists this cannot be a problem with their printer
