Word to Outlook Message

By hurdk ·
I have a Word document.
On the Word document I have a click command button.
I need code behind the command button to copy the Word document to an
Outlook message. The copy command would select the entire Word
document (I think WholeStory is involved.)
I need code to Open a new Outlook message, do Edit and Paste Special.
The Paste Special in Outlook will copy the Word document to the Outlook
message.
In Outlook I must use File, New, Mail Message, Edit, Paste Special,
Formatted Text (RTF), OK.

Word to Outlook Message

If you are using Word 97 or Word 2000 the work to send a document as an attachment has already been done for you--On the File menu the command is "Send To, Mail Recipient."

If you want an icon on your toolbar to cover any of the options listed on"Send Mail", choose View, Toolbars and Customize from the menu. When the "Customize" window opens, choose the "Commands" tab, and find the "Send To" items in the collection of icons. Drag the icon you want onto your tool bar.

If you want to insert the Word document as the text of an Outlook message, why not record a macro in Word that selects the document contents and copies them, opens "Send Mail" and chooses "Outlook Recipient", then advances through the email message until the text areais reached and pastes the Word document contents there. If you are looking for VBA code, recording this macro will give you the code you need.

I must not use attachments. I must automate the above procedure. For seven months I have had discussions with my supervisor about this.
