This should be an easy one, I was setting a Network with 5 pc’s all are running Windows XP pro. Since Security is not a big issue I decided for a workgroup, my customer only want to share resources and some applications.
He also want to share the internet connection.(Cable)
I though ” this is an easy one”; I’ll set a small router and configure a workgroup and in no time everything should be up and running.
Set router, first pc, so far so good, everything is working, did second, third and fourth, all well and going, but in the fifth one I can’t make the computer see the other computers, the router is showing a steady connection (Belkin) with a steady light in all 5 and in the WAN, #5 is showing that belongs to the right workgroup, but it can’t either access the internet or see the other computers.
I check the LAN connections on this pc, disable and re-enable the NIC card, check cables, reboot, powercycle everything with no results.
I ran the network connection wizard again with no results. I check on my books and notes, but I just can’t find any solution other than what I have already done.
Any ideas? It will be greatly appreciated.
