working on linux......

hi friends......
I m a student of MCA and i want to know that how can i learn working on linux enviornment...
even i know a little about the commands of linux...and i have installed fedora 8 on my laptop...

That's not the best distro for your first look

SimplyMepis, PCLinux or an Ubuntu type might have been better to start with., lots of how tos on there.

You tend to find either 'idiot' guides for friendly distros that hide the underlying OS, or under the covers expert guides that make a whole range of assumptions about what you should already know.

My recommendation is to start simple.

I've just started to learn to develop for Linux. Had a quick play with KDevelop which is a full on IDE, and learnt basically nothing. So I uninstalled the lot and started with the basic gcc compiler from the command line.

You might get better info, if you describe the sort of work you want to do, or at least start with.
