Worst customer service nominees

By pgm554 ·
With globalization of the tech biz a fait accomplie, the level of customer/tech support has sunk (in my opinion)to a new low.

My experiences over the past couple of years are nothing less than horror stories of existentialist proportions.

My background is a 3rd level Sr level engineer and any time I gotta call tech support/customer service from any major company,it just makes me just cringe.

Yeah,I know some folks will say consumer goods gets you consumer customer service (offshore).
But when the only product available is the only one for the job, what can you do?

My vote for horrible includes:
HP,Sony,Tracfone,ATT/SBC,Symantec just to name a few of the worst of the worst.

How bout some stories if you got 'em?

My #1 is...

Comcast. I've experienced being hung up on by Comcast reps, I've experienced a gross lack of organization as well as a strong unwillingness to provide customer service. I don't know how they're still in business. They've got tons of money, think how much they would have if they decided to go into the untapped industry of anti-customer service?!

Charter Communications...

10 years of nothing but the run around when there's a problem with their network. Hopefully, with some new options on the horizon, we won't be 'Chartering' much longer.

Charter Communications--The Devil

I couldn't agree with you more. After a recent move, I
noticed my cable was missing a number of channels
promised in the very expensive package I ordered. I
called was on hold for (of course!) forever. Finally after
getting someone, explaining the situation, the customer
service rep told me those channels were not included in
my package. The detailed notes I took during the original
order call were in my hand. Of course I objected. Then
she actually said, and I quote "I'm sorry our customer
service person lied to you." Unbelievable.
