writing small program

By jvcdc ·
Please bear with me, I am out of my element-I do not even know if I categorized this question correctly. Does anyone know of any interent resources that will help me learn to write a program that I can integrate into my website which will allow a visitor to type and send an alphanumeric message to a pager right off of our web site. Thanks for any advice.

Sure . . .

For *MOST* alphanumeric pagers, you can send an email a special address and it will show up on the pager. For example, to send a message to a SprintPCS pager you can send an email to <phonenumber>@messaging.sprintpcs.com. I know thisalso works with AT&T pagers.

If your pager will work like that, this will be a piece of cake. Just surf the following sites for free code on how to send an email using ASP, and send the email to your pager's email address:

The previous answer makes sense. But, you probably don't need to learn ASP. Just use html - the mailto tag like so:
<a href="mailto:Joe@mycompany.com">Page Joe</a>

Change Joe@mycompany.com to the email address for the pager or cell phone.
