Writing Windows NT Services in VB

First, the bad news - Microsoft doesn?t recommend or support this. They explain why in the following KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q175/9/48.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=NT%20service&rnk=4&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=VBB

But if you really wanted try you can use the following link:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnolectrl/html/msdn_ntsrvocx.asp

, and yes it's from Microsoft (they still don't recommend it), which has an article and code sample that uses the Ntsrv.ocx control.

And last, you could look into these people: http://www.activeplus.com. Specifically their ServerMill Control. I personally have never used these people for anything, but hey, they seem to offer a solution.

Hope this help, if not, maybe a better understanding. Any further questions feel free to contact me.

P.S. ? I too wanted to do what your wanting to do, but I needed more stability (Microsoft?s normal guarantee) since over half my apps were considered mission critical.
