By flipnola ·
I'm trying to extract an xml file from a zip file but it's asking for an xml password after double clicking the xml file inside the zip directory. Is there any way to decode the password?

Simply contact the author of the zip content or the creator of the zip for the password.

Perhaps Linux has an answer

Try and transfer the file to a Linux box and use gunzip from a command line. I do know that if you get a password protected MS Office document, a simple transfer to Linux and an open and save in OpenOffice will strip the password.
