I tried to activate office xp sm b edition on a brand new dell over the internet. The activation wizard pops up and then I get an error after it tries to activate. The error is “A communication error has occured your request cannot be processed at this time try again later or try the phone option.” When I click and try the phone option the first set of numbers I am supposed to read to the phone activator is there but there is no box to enter the set of numbers that they will give to me. I have been on with dell and MS. There miracle solution is do a restore. I would prefer a less drastic measure. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office and it did not help. I have searched high and low for info on ms and dell plus many ghoogle searches. Please do not send me to any web sites that do have have the solution. I will award point for the fix.
