XP and Windows 200 Server

By jjandug ·
Has anyone came across this issue? I have an XP machine that logs in to a Windows 2000 Server with Active Directory. When I try to copy large files from my XP machine to the network drive, halfway through the copying it will error out. A dialog box pops up and it states "error copying file, specified network resource is no longer available" WIN 2000 server has SP3 and XP has SP1

It may sounds silly, but put your network card in another free pci slot. This way it will change the used IRQ for that device.

Probably you have now shared the networkcard with the interrupt of your videocard, which is IRQ11. Try for a network card IRQ 10 or 9.

When there are more devices on the same interupt, try to update to the latest drivers or try to seperate if possible so that all devices work on different interupts.
