By jeffdevers ·
I have Windows XP and DSL connection. Should I use the ICF in conjuction with another firewall(Zone Alarm)or is the Microsoft ICF sufficient by itself.

It's recommended to run both. I cannot speak from experience however, because I use a hardware based firewall.

Would you really trust only MS ICF? It only prevents connections to your PC. Zonealarm controls both outgoing and incoming requests. It can be a bit confusing, so set it to learning mode, and notice what you are doing when it asks for permission to access the internet.
Do you also use a router? You may have firewall functions built in, also.
