XP Print Problem

By stuart.douglas ·
User is using a laptop with Windows XP on it. This machine isn't switching off correctly and you have to crash the machine. When you start up again there is a document in the print Q that isn't deleting.

XP Print Problem

You will need to manually delete the print job from the system.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. Under Services and Applications click on Services.
In the right pane look for Print Spooler right click it and select Stop.
Open windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS and delete any files you find there.

Go back to the Services window and Start the Print Spooler. The stuck print job should be gone.

hope this helps...

In the end the print Q seemed to clear by itself. The solution you supplied isn't something I thought of. Don't know if it would work but sounds good.
