xp pro crash help

By hawgfan ·
My XP Pro recently crashed. I tried the so-called recovery console to no avail. If this was Win 9x, I would boot on a boot floppy and use DOS commands to copy data files to floppies. Is there any way to do similar with XP (NTFS)? There doesn't seem to be enough DOS commands to do much good at anything.

Just no boot

It just would not boot when I powered it up. I don't remember the message it gave me, I think it was "non system disk..."
