XP professional booting problem

By cagonzalez ·
have an XPPro box that seems to have a recurring issue,..will run EXCELLENT for months,..then will go into an endless reboot loop for no apparent reason. NO software or hardware has been added to the machine(besides the automatic updates from Microsoft)and is NOT set to automatically reboot in the advance properties....any ideas?

Sounds like a hardware issue. Clean connections on CPU, RAM, cables, ect. Could be weak power supply.

Turn "Automatic Restart" off

I would uncheck "Automaticlly Restart" off under
control panel > system > advanced > system failure.

There is nothing worse than having a fast system reboot, display a stop error for 50 milliseconds, and then restart. If you can see the error, you might be able to better diagnose it. I am assuming that it is restarting after beginning to load the OS rather than just after loading the BIOS
