ntBarnes & Noble CEO William Lynch showed off the new Nook Tablet, updated Nook Color and the Nook Simple Touch ereader at the Barnes & Noble store in Union Square, Manhattan.

ntLynch says the new 7-inch Nook Tablet will be powered by a 1Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and up to 1080p video support.

ntLynch relishes the crowd reaction to his company’s new device. He claims the Nook Tablet will feature 11.5 hours of reading time and 9 hours of video playback. It also has a low glare screen and will be able to access WiFi at B&N stores and video hotspots.
