HTC DROID Incredible retail box
The Motorola DROID is a popular Android device on Verizon Wireless, but may have just been bested by the HTC DROID Incredible with 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8 megapixel camera, and Sense 2.5 experience. Check out these comparison photos, photos taken with the DROID Incredible and screenshots.
Small retail package
The DROID Incredible box is quite small with a focus on showing off the device with photos of it on the top and bottom.
Here is the HTC Incredible
When you first open up the box you will find the device with a plastic cover on it labeling all the virtual and hardware buttons.
Wow, look at the back of the Incredible
You can’t help but notice the back of the Incredible with the bright red plastic that includes a matching HTC battery.
Battery in place, open back
The entire back of the Incredible is removed to access the battery.
Red all over
I doubt you will ever misplace the battery of this device with the bright red finish.
Contoured back cover
The back panel of the HTC DROID Incredible has three levels as you can see here. “with Google” is also stamped on the lower back.
HTC logo and camera
An HTC logo is embedded in the back with the 8 megapixel camera and dual LED flash lights above and to the left. The opening on the right is for the speaker.
Full soft touch back
The back is covered in black soft touch material and feels great in your hand.
Yes, this is a microUSB port
Even though it has a different look to it, this is a microUSB port for charging and connectivity to your PC/Mac.
Volume button
A + and – appears on the long volume button on the left side.
Top of the Incredible
The 3.5mm headset jack and power button is found on the top of the HTC Incredible.
Upper front of the device
The speaker grill on the front is red with the Verizon label placed below it and above the display.
HTC DROID Incredible in hand
The DROID Incredible feels great in your hand with slightly less width than the Nexus One.
New optical joystick
Rather than using a trackball on the Incredible, HTC replaced it with an optical joystick. You can still press in on the center of it to select an item too.
Touch sensitive buttons
There are four touch sensitive areas below the display for Home, Menu, Back, and Search.
DROID Incredible in hand with display on
The 3.7 inch OLED display looks great in most lighting conditions.
HTC high end lineup
In this view you can see the HTC HD2, DROID Incredible, and Google Nexus One.
Back of the HTC devices
The back of each one shows how they can be a bit distinct even though they are similar.
Stacking up the HTC devices
The DROID Incredible is a bit different than the other two because the microUSB port is on the left rather than on the bottom like the others.
Lower side view of the HTC devices
All three devices are rather thin and do feel great in your hand.
Side view of the HTC devices
The Nexus One and DROID Incredible have about the same height while the HD2 is a bit taller.
HTC Incredible photo one
I took this shot at QWEST Field in Seattle. This football is composed of helmets from all the high schools in Washington State.
HTC Incredible photo two
I took this photo during the Sounders FC game.
HTC Incredible photo three
Another photo taken with the DROID Incredible.
Typical Home screen panel
The HTC DROID Incredible has the HTC Sense 2.5 user interface on board and this is a typical Home screen panel.
Leap functionality in HTC Sense 2.5
A cool new capability is the Leap feature where you can see thumbnails of each of the 7 Home screen panels in your selected Scene.
Verizon section of the Android Market
Rather than load the device up with bloatware, Verizon provides the user with a special section in the Android Market.
NFL Mobile on the DROID Incredible
It was great to see the new NFL Mobile application available on the device.
Camera software
This is a shot of the camera software on the DROID Incredible.
Friend Stream application
Another new piece of software provided by HTC is Friend Stream. The software shows you updates and photos from your Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr networks.
Car Home panel
This interface provides shortcuts to utilities optimized for navigation with the DROID Incredible.
