    The main UI page, if you don’t have any existing collection. Kinda pointless to let you name the collection since the Mini really only allows for one collection at a time, unlike the other products in the search appliance line.

  • Specify the starting url and any url patterns you want the Mini to crawl or avoid. The “Test these patterns” link brings you to a page where you can input urls to see if they would match the patterns you’ve entered.

  • You can specify subcollections, which lets you narrow down a search to only certain pages of the larger collection. The Mini allows for one collection at a time so subcollections is the only way to break up your search index.

  • After the initial crawl and index, you can set up a schedule for subsequent crawls.

  • You can follow the progress of a crawl on this screen. The little colored balls move back and forth as the page updates. Kindof Cylon-like.
