Images: Upstream’s photon vacuum projectors
Image 1 of 2
These nonworking product-design samples, shown here next to a AA battery, illustrate how compact Upstream Engineering’s photon vacuum projectors are expected to be. Once fully developed, the projectors could be marketed as accessories for media players, cell phones and other portable devices.
Upstream Engineering
The prototype of Upstream Engineering’s photon vacuum LCoS lighting engine is approximately 35 by 45 by 16mm. It sports three separate Luxeon III leds (for red, green and blue), a polarizing beam splitter, a cross-dichroic prism (which organizes the color composition of the image) and a housing that is tough enough to withstand drops to the floor.
