Berlin plays host to the annual consumer electronics show known as Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA), which opened Friday. Nearly every manufacturer–Hitachi being one of the most prominent–is touting full high-definition displays. The trade show closes Wednesday.
This video camera from Hitachi comes with a DVD burner and an 8GB 1-inch microdrive for recording. The drive can hold up to 6 hours of video. The device also has a 3.3 megapixel still camera.
Hitachi makes a 60-inch high-definition plasma TV that sports 2 million pixels.
LG.Philips LCD makes a 100-inch LCD screen, the world’s largest in its class.
LG.Philips LCD makes this flat projector that can be mounted on a wall. Manufacturers have been able to shrink projectors thanks to the development of better components. Some hope to eventually incorporate projectors into cell phones.
