Here you can get a good look at the R.A.T. 7’s profile. There is a big side scrolling button in the middle and on the end facing right you can see the adjustment tool. It goes where the mouse goes.

Tool removed

The palm guard slides off the slotted metal bar.

Tool in action
Using the tool, you can change out the pinky rest.

Pinky rest removed
The R.A. T. 7 comes with three different pinky rests, but I liked the tray-style the best.

Thumb buttons wing extended
On the other side, you can use the tool to adjust the thumb button housing to move up and down the length of the mouse and to flare out away from the mouse if you want.
