Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates tries on a vibrating wristband that is part of a system designed to help the blind and visually impaired navigate. The setup was developed by a team of Brazilian college students, including Ivan Cordeiro Cardim, center, and Carlos Eduardo Montiero Rodrigues, seen on the far right.
Gates looks on as a team of students from Virginia Commonwealth University–the Imagine Cup finalists from the United States–demonstrate their “PocketDoc” program for quick access to medical data. The students demonstrating the software are Brandon Saunders (left) and Brooks Hollar (right).
