Apple Computer and Nike have teamed up to offer the Nike+iPod Sport Kit, a system that allows sneakers to talk to the iPod Nano. While running, athletes can hear, via the music player, data on pace, distance and calories burned.

A sensor and receiver placed in the sole of the Nike+ Air Zoom Moire sneaker “talks” to the iPod Nano as athletes run. Long-term progress and other data can also be tracked by syncing the Nano with “The Nike+ Experience” computer software, available July 13.
A new iTunes feature will enable sports enthusiasts to find music playlists, compiled by famous athletes, conducive to working out.
