Sony’s PlayStation 3 will be dressed in black when it arrives in U.S. and Canadian stores on Nov. 17. The 60GB version, shown here, carries a price tag of $599 and includes Wi-Fi capabilities and Memory Stick/SD/CompactFlash slots. The more basic $499 version, which lacks the silver trim, has a 20GB hard drive. Both feature a Blu-ray Disc drive for high-definition video, along with Bluetooth wireless functions.
The front of the PS3. On Thursday, Sony showed off the new PlayStation to journalists and announced the lineup of games that will be available when the console is launched. Titles in the mix will include “Madden NFL 07” from Electronic Arts, “Tony Hawk’s Project 8” from Activision and “Resistance: Fall of Man,” a Blu-ray game from Sony Computer Entertainment America.
