Pranked: Could your office cube be next?

Bathroom cubicle

Bathroom cubicle

By Anthony Sullivan

Maybe it’s a coincidence or maybe it’s something written into the DNA of those destined to work in office cubicles, but it seems that no office is short of mischievous pranksters looking for their next mark.

Check out these photos of some great cubicle pranks that people have pulled over the years.

The traditional bathroom scrawl is classic.

Prank or mess?

Prank or mess?

I guess this is a prank. Looks a lot more like a mess to me. It looks like they tried to spell out something on the floor.

Wampa cave 1

Wampa cave 1

This is probably my favorite office deco prank of all the ones I’ve seen. They’ve decorated the cube to look like the wampa cave from the Star Wars movies.

There is a human skeleton on the floor with a few artifacts.

Check out the details over the next few shots.

From this angle you can see that the wampa has a sense of style and decoration. The family pictures on the wall are a nice touch.

It’s this attention to detail that really makes a prank work.

I’m not sure what’s going on in that picture in the upper right though.

One last shot of just the cave. You can barely even tell that this isn’t a real ice cave.

I’d be interested to know how long this took to set up.

Papered office

Papered office

It’s a shame you can’t tell what is on the paper in this shot. I’m sure it would make this prank a lot funnier.

Newspapered cubes

Newspapered cubes

This one didn’t take much effort but affected so many.

The victims don’t seem to be all that fazed by it, however.

Clever prank

Clever prank

This might not look like much but with the door closed this would look like the entire interior was filled with shredded paper.

It’s very clever and not much effort. I like it.

Foiled and balloons

Here we have a mix of foil and balloons. I wonder how much foil it takes to cover a loveseat.

Yet another foiled office

Yet another foiled office

You might not notice it on first glance, but if you look closely you can see that they foiled the wall clock in the back.

The next 3 shots all come from the same prank. The amount of detail in this one is ridiculous. Take a look at some of the items they took the time to cover.

As you can see, they foiled every little bit of this cube.

In the lower left hand corner you can see an Easy Button from staples. It’s wrapped so well you can still read the text.

The only thing you can see that isn’t foiled is the trash bag in the trash bin.

They foiled the cables under the computer and the UPS as well. Probably not a very good idea but still funny.

This is a panoramic view of the foiled cube.

Too bad you can’t keep it this way. It’s very Art Deco.

My favorite part of this prank is the jacket hanging on the chair. The poor guy was probably picking foil out of his jacket for days.

Look how smooth the floor is. That took some time.

Tin foil aside, this guy had a pretty pimped out workstation. I’ll have to figure out where he works. Maybe they need a developer.

More foil!

More foil!

I’m beginning to think that the world would have a lot more aluminum if there were fewer office pranks.

Here is another foiled office. This one is a little more moderate but still a thorough and detailed job.

Even more foil!

Even more foil!

Here is the same office as before but from a different angle. I like that they left the workspace in shape to be used. The Monitor is visible and all the papers are still on the desk.

Filled to the Rim

Filled to the Rim

I really like this one.

Where do you find that much packing material? More importantly, what do you do with it when the prank is over?

That's a big spider

That's a big spider

This was a neat idea. I like the big spider. Maybe some stretched cotton stuffing would liven it up a bit though.

Balloons!

Balloons!

All I can think of when I see this one is the cleanup. After a kid’s birthday party, you can usually find little balloon corpses hidden in corners for months.

I imagine if you searched this office today you could still find evidence of this prank.

The last foiled office, I promise!

The last foiled office, I promise!

I think this is the first one we’ve seen where they foiled the ceiling.

Isn’t aluminim foil kind of expensive?

Another papered office

Another papered office

When I first saw this one I thought they had lined the office with post-it notes. Instead I think it is legal paper.

Maybe one of you readers will do it in post-it notes and email me the pics!
