AVG Download Manager
AVG Anti-Virus Professional 9.0 now features an AVG Download Manager. The small setup file eliminates the need for network administrators to have to download some 100MB every time the AVG antivirus software is updated. Instead, the AVG Download Manager is a small file that locates the most current installation files and downloads them to begin installation.

Streamlined Menus
Once the AVG Download Manager downloads the setup file, installation begins. Menus have been tweaked, as is seen here, to provide a cleaner, more streamlined look.

Drastically Improved Performance
AVG claims changes to its scanning engine improve performance by up to 50%. A new AVG Optimization Scan, which appears as a last step during installation, plays a critical role in performance optimization.

AVG Optimization Scan
The new AVG scanning engine marks files as safe or potentially unsafe during this initial scan. These files are then skipped during subsequent scans unless their file structure changes.

New AVG Anti-Virus 9.0 Interface
The new AVG Anti-Virus 9.0 interface features new menus and icons, but the main applications (Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Rootkit, E-mail Scanner, Resident Shield, etc.) are still present.

New Scheduling Options
Version 9.0 introduces the ability to break out scheduled scans by specific days. Businesses will find the new flexibility more supportive compatible with other scheduled tasks, such as back ups and operating system updates.
