ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 Box
You may recognize the ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 box from the company’s advertising, which appears in many leading consumer magazines.
Virus Signature Updates
Antimalware programs are only as good as their latest updates, since new threats hit the wild almost every hour. NOD32, by default, is automatically set to download updates automatically.
Blocked Attacks
NOD32 Antivirus tracks the number of infections it blocks. Here no attacks have been blocked, but that’s largely due to the software release being recent (version 4 has only been available on the street for several days).
Real Time Protection
By default, NOD32 Antivirus 4 loads real-time file system, document, e-mail client and Web access protections.
Log Files
NOD32 Antivirus logs application, database and scan results within its Log Files console, shown here.
Advanced Settings - Customization
Users wishing to switch to the Advanced Mode can configure a myriad number of settings within the antivirus software. While the default configuration will server most users well, virus, spyware, e-mail, tool and scheduled task items can all be customized from within the Advanced Mode console.
Advanced Settings - E-mail Clients
Users can tailor client email integration using the Email Client Protection section of the Advanced settings. In addition to specifying whether received and sent email should be checked for infection, users can dictate which actions NOD32 should take when flagging infections, as well.
