\n\tThe 1976 CES show was given credit for making digital watches mainstream. In the early 1970s, LCD watches that used less battery power gained popularity over the LED watches which required you to push a button to read the time and save power. Texas Instruments was able to reduce their cost down to $10 each by 1976.

\n\tHD DVD was a high format disk technology designed to be the next genereation DVD. It was developed at the same time as Sony’s Blu-ray technology and was introduced to the public at CES in 2004. Although they were cheaper, HD DVDs lacked the quality and space of Blu-rays and eventually were phased out beginning in mid-2008.
