While Apple might have the most popular smartwatch with the Apple Watch Series 5, not everyone wants to join that ecosystem. Here are some other great options.
Likely Samsung’s best sport smartwatch option, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active offers two days of battery, and is half the price of the Apple Watch 4. The smartwatch is still stylish, however, making it a good option for work and the gym. Running on Tizen OS 4.0, the watch has a heart rate sensor, GPS, and LTE option. The watch is also waterproof, which is a big perk for swimmers.

2. Fossil Sport
The recently released Fossil Sport has a Snapdragon 3100 processor, rapid charging, and a slew of different straps for a variety of style options. Running on Google’s Wear OS, the watch has many apps and faces to choose from and includes heart rate and activity tracking. The watch is lightweight and compact, leaning more toward the daintier side, and holds an approximate two-day battery life.

3. Fitbit Versa
Fitbit Versa is the smaller, sleeker, less expensive version of the Fitbit Ionic. With a lightweight design, and a relatively low price, the Versa has Fitbit Pay for contactless payments, a battery life of three days, and a sleep tracker. However, the Versa doesn’t have a GPS, so it may not be the best option for runners.

4. Huawei Watch 2
The Huawei Watch 2 is the second version of the Huawei smartwatch and comes in two versions: Sports and Classic. The Classic is much more stylish, but also more expensive than the Sports option. It features an onscreen keyboard, GPS, heart rate monitoring, water resistance, and sleep tracking. Bluetooth also allows for Android Pay. Without using the GPS, the battery can last two days, otherwise users must charge daily.

The slim, lightweight hybrid watch features a small display on the main watch face. It has basic fitness tracking, GPS tracking, and a long battery life. This watch is great for users who are traditional watch wearers, but want to jump on the smartwatch bandwagon. With such a small digital display, users looking to use the watch for communication should look elsewhere.

One of the least expensive options on the list, Ticwatch E2 has a battery life of around two days, and also runs on Wear OS. It has all the fitness features one would expect, but with a simpler design. This is a good option for those looking for a functional, straightforward smartwatch.

Extremely similar to the Venu model, the Garmin Vu00edvoactive 4/4S has nearly the same functionality, but without the AMOLED screen. Garmin’s Vu00edvomove series are the most fashionable of the company’s latest releases. Coming in 3/3S, Style, and Luxe models, all the editions feature real ticking hands, with a hidden smart display. The health and wellness amenities are pretty much the same as the Venu and Vu00edvoactive 4, but has Garmin Pay and a connected GPS. The battery life in smart mode can last up to five days, and an additional week in watch mode.

10. Michael Kors Access Bradshaw 2
Michael Kors’s latest Access Bradshaw 2 watch is powered by Google’s Wear OS and the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform. However, this new watch has heart rate monitoring, Google Assistant, Google Pay, GPS tracking, and waterproof capabilities. The watch also features four different life stages, in which users can conserve and extend the battery.
