SOFTWARE
After assuring functioning hardware and network connections are installed, the next step is to confirm a proper suite of software is installed on the workstation. The operating system should be properly licensed and allocated, and primary application software should be installed and ready to go, so the new employee can hit the ground running.
Ancillary productivity software like email, messaging, collaborative meeting apps, etc., should also be installed and ready to go before the new employee logs in to begin work. This preliminary setup of software should include any specialized security applications for biometrics. Enterprise IT should also open any special ports in the firewall as needed.
