In this paper, the authors mainly focus on using wireless technology effectively for security. The system is SMS-based and uses wireless technology to revolutionize the standards of living. It uses a GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) modem to send an SMS to the home owner in case of an intrusion. The project is realized by interfacing an infrared trans-receiver with an ATMEGA16 microcontroller and a GSM Module. As the system uses GSM technology, it provides ubiquitous access to the system for security.
