Value Stream Analysis on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Production Line

The possibility of lean implementation in a high mix low volume industry is studied at an electronic manufacturing firm. The paper is to analyze the production process of one of the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) production line and find out possibility of productivity and lead time improvement. Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is used to check the current production flow of one product family of PCB. VSM is a lean manufacturing tool that helps to identify and remove seven deadly wastes. eVSM software is used to draw the current state value stream of the production flow.
