Microsoft, Nvidia, and Anthropic seal a multibillion-dollar AI pact, scaling Claude on Azure with Nvidia chips to bring frontier models to more enterprises.

Microsoft, Nvidia, and Anthropic are joining forces in a major AI alliance, locking in massive compute commitments and deeper technical integration across Azure and Nvidia’s latest chip platforms.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called the partnership a “dream come true,” underscoring the scale of the three-way effort to accelerate frontier AI development.

In a joint announcement from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and Huang, Anthropic said it will scale its Claude models on Microsoft Azure using Nvidia’s architecture, while the trio expands enterprise access to frontier systems. The deal brings new model availability, significant infrastructure investments, and a first-of-its-kind technical partnership between Nvidia and Anthropic.

Joining forces to supercharge the next era of AI

The trio outlined how the partnership will push advanced AI into mainstream enterprise use, focusing on tighter integration between Claude and Nvidia’s newest platforms.

Nadella noted that Microsoft has been rolling out Nvidia hardware across Azure “at the speed of light” and said the companies will now build and ship AI together to meet rising demand. Amodei added that the agreement gives Anthropic the compute headroom to train and serve more capable versions of Claude, while making the model available on all three major clouds.

Huang said the alliance is geared toward delivering faster performance at lower cost. The companies expect the partnership to carry frontier AI deeper into global enterprises and support a new wave of high-performance workloads.

Claude gets a substantial lift with Azure capacity and Nvidia hardware

Anthropic is scaling Claude directly on Microsoft Azure, tapping into the cloud’s newest infrastructure to handle larger training runs and heavier enterprise workloads. The company said the upgrade relies on Nvidia’s Grace Blackwell and the upcoming Vera Rubin systems, giving Claude the horsepower needed for its next generation models.

Azure customers will now see Claude integrated more deeply across Microsoft’s ecosystem. Nadella confirmed that frontier Claude models, including Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku, are coming to Microsoft Foundry, expanding the lineup available to businesses building AI applications.

Claude is also staying embedded across the Copilot family, from GitHub to Microsoft 365. With Azure’s global reach and Nvidia’s latest accelerators, Anthropic says the expansion will make Claude accessible to far more organizations seeking high-performance AI.

Aiming to boost speed and slash costs

Nvidia and Anthropic are entering their first deep technical partnership, aligning engineers on both sides to co-optimize future Claude models with Nvidia’s upcoming architectures. According to Huang, he expects “an order of magnitude speed up” as Claude is tuned to run on Grace Blackwell systems and, later, the Vera Rubin platform.

The collaboration goes beyond standard hardware adoption. Anthropic will work with Nvidia to shape the design of the next wave of chips, ensuring Claude can train and serve more efficiently at scale. Huang praised Claude’s code tools and the Model Context Protocol, saying Nvidia’s engineers are eager to accelerate them across its newest accelerators.

Both companies said their goal is to deliver performance gains while reducing token costs. Huang noted that the ambition is to “spread AI everywhere” by pairing Anthropic’s frontier research with Nvidia’s fastest systems.
