Code spills the beans on Samsung’s S26 FE and Tab S12.
Samsung’s unannounced Galaxy S26 FE smartphone and Galaxy Tab S12 tablet series have appeared in an internal list inside the Google app, offering one of the earliest signs that the devices are moving closer to launch.
The discovery, first reported by Android Authority, shows the devices listed as “S26 FE” and “Tab S12” among hardware eligible for a complimentary trial of Google’s premium AI subscription. The same list already includes the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, which are expected to debut at Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event.
While the listing does not reveal specifications or an official release date, it suggests Samsung is preparing software and service support before the products are announced.
September looks likely, but August is possible
Samsung has not confirmed when the Galaxy S26 FE or Galaxy Tab S12 series will arrive. However, previous launch timing points to a September debut, following last year’s Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 introductions, according to Android Authority.
Still, the timeline could shift. Android Authority noted that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 appeared on the same Google list only about a week before their expected unveiling, raising the possibility that Samsung could introduce the new Fan Edition phone and tablets as early as August.
Rumored hardware begins to take shape
Although the Google app listing contains no hardware details, previous leaks have offered an early picture of what Samsung could be preparing.
According to Gadget 360, the Galaxy S26 FE is expected to use Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor and may ship with Android 17. The report also says the phone could feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a 5,000mAh battery, up to 12GB of RAM, and an IP68-rated design.
PhoneArena, citing earlier leaks, reported that the handset could receive a redesigned camera layout matching the flagship Galaxy S26 family. It also suggested the phone may offer up to 512GB of storage and wireless charging support, though reported charging speeds vary across rumors.
For the tablet lineup, Gadgets 360 reported that the Galaxy Tab S12 series is expected to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, with Samsung likely introducing standard, Plus, and Ultra models.
